Passing Notes
By Lexy Timms
Life is the most difficult exam…. I wasn't interested in going to college. All I wanted to do was stay in Europe and travel, but my parents were insistent. They think I'm some kind of wild child and won't stop nagging me, so I finally agreed to come back to the States. I followed in my older brother's footsteps, enrolling in the same state school. Of course, I wasn't going to completely give up everything I cared about. My choice of major was a big issue, and it took all my patience to put up with my parents' constant pressure to change. I don't know why they're so dead-set against art. In my mind, it's one of the oldest and most respected fields of study in the world. I signed up for Art History 101 without expecting much from it. How could I sit in a lecture hall and learn about masterpieces I'd seen with my own eyes? I was sure it was going to be boring.
